Day 4 - Kuta, Bali

Saturday, June 06, 2009

Our breakfast! indonesian fried rice ... had so much of this when I was there!
our hotel's lobby -- it's a restaurant in front of our hotel, connected together. thus the restaurant becomes the 'lobby'. btw it's Hotel Miki at Kuta! good hotel and friendly people! just a little off Legian street

we signed up for a day tour around Bali.. saw some Batik work

our tour guides -->
saw some silver work and we tried doing a bit!

doing this for too long will really have shoot-bird-eyes!!
saw some Bali authentic paintings...

on this door, it is carved with the story of Kechak dance!

some royal temple.. I never tried to remember their names because it's all too looongg..

saw some wood carving too.. you see, this tour group is really worth it! haha! see so many things in a day!
then the spectacular rice fields.. famous in central Bali

then we went to Mount Batur, Kintamani. it's a volcano!! the climate is cooler up here
this photo above is taken by LG Renoir! three photos join tgt to see the whole view

can you see the crater? mind you, this volcano is STILL ACTIVE
then we went to coffee plantation.. Bali is also famous for its coffee, as what I've seen on Channel 16 Travel & Living!
Murni and the shy tour guide! He's only 20
at the coffee plantation.. they made sooo many different types of drinks for me. by the time I finished the last cup, I can't remember the taste of the previous ones!

see the paper boxes behind? the one that the man is sitting beside is actually housing an infant inside. the poor baby is only covered with a piece of cloth. poor thing.
civet cat -- produces the world's most expensive coffee. this thing eats the coffee fruit then digest the beans out. these beans would then be processed into the best and most expensive coffee in the world!
6 cups of beverage!! I was holding on to the Civet cat coffee
on the way back to kuta, we saw Balinese religious ceremony!! some temple event that day.. so Balinese presenting offerings to their Gods

and finally... more rice fields..
