Lake George

Wednesday, May 28, 2008

finally able to upload these photos! i took two days to put all these up because of the lousy internet connection here! anyway, because of the internet, this is an outdated post. we went Lake George couple of days ago. Carol, Vivien, Leona, Dave and I. Dave is a colleage from Sky Coaster too. he's a friendly guy who offers his help as a tour guide and driver for us. the day was fun! finally, I feel like a tourist again!

first, we went to open a bank account! yeah! finally have a USA billing address and can order things online! after that, we went to a Chinese restaurant for lunch buffet. the foods are quite economic-rice style. but that's the best we have here! how i miss Chinese food! and it's considered cheap at a price of $7.99 for a buffet! Finally hot rice and chinese style vege for meal! fulfilled and happy after the meal, Dave drove us to Lake George (finally after all the talks!!) for sight-seeing then we headed down to Saratoga for Victoria Secret & Forever21 shop! weee!!

in the car, on our way to the bank. a pretty small car but enough to warm the 4 of us!
a big man with Pooh Bear in his car!! we made so much jokes about the pooh bee! it was hilarous!

at the Chinese restaurant for lunch! the food was great! they have fried rice, fried noodle, sweet sour pork.. the usually cai fan dishes! happy!

at lake george! it was soooo cold! noon was so warm when we set off, but when we reached Lake George, it was so cold i think my cheeks were numb!

stormy day. dark greyish clouds are not nice for photos. too bad. the photos ain't very nice becuz of the weather. im sure we'll go again since it is so near! nicer photos next time!
the pictures look peaceful, but imagine it freezing cold!

the lake is like sea to us. hahaha! in wad sense does it look like lake from the view? its so big!

apparently, we drink water from Lake George. thats our drinking water from the tap! oh my god! i needa start drinking boiled water!

streets in Lake George Town! it is still very empty and the shops are not open yet. bcuz the summer is still young.. they told us everything will open after Memorial Day! but nothing looks happening here! some historical building at the back

empty streets! closed shops! its like ghost town! it supposed to open two weeks later .. sigh

Carol!

the sky was slightly cleared when i took this photo. the lake looks so much better! we definitely going back again when summer comes!

Dave fling Leona over his shoulder and carried her around! throw her in!

leaving Lake George now for Saratogo! shopping!
Saratoga here we are!! huge old navy, forever 21, victoria secret! so many shops!
inside of VS shop!

after a brief shopping at Saratoga, we went for dinner at Friendly's! I bought 2 items from F21! so cheap! one satin top is $4.99 only! omg!

at the Friendly's, where we met a pretty waitress and Dave is interested in her. so he left her a $5 tip and a slip of paper with name and number! so funny! she didn't call back in the end. haha
2 girls share one basket of fried food! it's cheese bacon on criss-cut fries, mozerrella cheese stick, cheese burgers!
sinful yet delicious!!! was cheap too! the bill was only $6 each!
carol and her stretchy mozerrella cheese stick

so sinful but so so delicious! eating out is definitely cheaper in USA than in Singapore. the day was eventful and full of laughters! never had we stop laughing over a small joke. Lake George was pretty quiet when we went there, so we'll definitely go back again in June. we can ride the steam boat for free too! happy! maybe white water rafting somewhere nearby too! we finally saw the much-talkabout Lake George.. it's not that great actually. hahaha! it reminds me of the scene from Cairns, the Esplanade. even that has better scenery than the Lake.
next is Drive-in movie near our motel! we're watching Narnia; Prince Caspian! yeah! first time n i guess last time we'll do a drive in movie! so american-ish! =D yeap i think im starting to have fun here, starting to feel belonged here n calling Martha's Motel "home".
