:) went for grocery shopping just now and saw these cute lil things! haha! I can imagine Maygalai having one since she's always liking this kinda stuff..

these are actually small pumpkins with those furry thingy and draw-on weird faces on it. haha kinda weird don't u think.. ppl in America and all crave out their pumpkins.. Singapore? we draw on it..

how nice.. sigh.. don't think we can ever experience that kinda atmosphere and excitement for Halloween in Singapore.. look at our Chinese New Year celebration for example! it's already one of those major festival that children & young parents are yearning to avoid.. we merely look forward to these kinda major festivals for the public holidays - a day off from work and school.. the true meaning of these festivals is fading - or rather - gone. but still... I wish all the Malays and Indians a very Happy Hari Raya & Deepavali!

oh! and talking abt Hari Raya and Deepavali... was outside that day and saw a banner wishing "Happy DeepaRaya!" ..... gosh... even this kinda greeting they also want to save the ink and money to print it out.. crap... joining the two together is really a big turn off man.. when I saw it, juz couldn't helped but roll my eyes.. haha

JiaJie~ u should noe her.. haha..

Saturday -- sis smsed me and said there's no lunch for Wendy .. asked me to make some cakes for her to eat for lunch.. hehe chose the easiest and simplest cake to do for little Wendy~

Sunday -- which is today. went out for lunch with family. took some photos of wendy and realize she grows up sooooo fast! take a look at the differences! on the left is the photo I took just now. on the right is the photo I took in mid May.
haha! cute huh! she was so round that time! like a michelin! look at her now!

Wendy's wearing a netted top.. was telling my sis to bring Wendy for some sun-tanning so that her body will have those minute hole marks.. hahaha lame.. but imagine her body with those polky dots tan mark! haha!

was watching 'Forever Summer with Nigella' on SCV the other day.. saw her making this "Simple chocolate cake" in that episode.. oh~ and I love it instantly. so might as well bake a little to relief stress.. it really helps for me. simply love cooking~ :)

the name for the cake is "Simple Chocolate Cake", but when it comes to the decorating part.. it's really tedious.. not exactly SIMPLE.. the washing is HELL lot of work man! it will be good to have a maid or someone to wash the dishes for u.. me? I just need Derrick = Mr Dishwasher. while looking through the recipe again, I found it quite plain hence I included some fresh strawberries and canned black berries.. haha it taste good together! wanted it to be a little like those "Black Forest Cake" that we see in Sweet Secrets.. but sigh.. my skill is not up to the standard yet.. haha the slicing of the cake is already a disaster.. and the applying of the icing.. that's worst.. really have NO idea how to apply it evenly. seriously need to attend some cooking lesson after my A levels.. enough of crapping.. take a look at the photos! -_- Derrick's PERFECT photo-taking skills again.. I had to crop a little to make it centralize... haha.. Derrick Derrick.. mmmm... the bottom 2nd layer.. there's actually 3 layers for the cake..

applying the canned black berries.. it tastes really really good.. those who loves cooking - u should try tat brand! the berries inside are those that we eat in "Black Forest Cake". damn nice~!!!
used this to dry the strawberries so that it will not be too moist and wet my cake.. the tissue paper looks nice huh? haha.. it reminds me of Othello that strawberry handkerchief!!
third layer almost done.. ooooh... can u see the berries oozing out at the side? and yes yes.. I know the layers are very uneven.. but who cares?! it tastes good can already! (and YES, it does taste good!) moreover, who can see it after I apply the icing? hehe ;p third layer done with the strawberries~~! looks like the shape of hamburger.. why?!?!?!

topped with chocolate icing and it's done! covered up all the flaws.. haha! that's the good thing about frosting.. it always help to cover all the ugly cut lines.. uneven layering.. HEY! those cake shops do that too! that's why their cream is always so freaking thick! and they are so cheapo! give u a thin layer of cake and loads of cream.. bleh.. then wad's the point of eating CAKE when there's 70% of cream on top?
eh.. I noe my cake doesn't look 10/10 .. haha.. but still.. this is the first time I'm making this typa layering cake in this year! mom taught me how to apply the icing before, but I kinda forget a great part of it.. sigh.. if only she's still around to guide me.. but nvm. back to my cake.. wanted to cut it tomorrow when my sis, bro-in-law and Wendy are here.. but DERRICK, who can't resists and insists that I cut a slice for him.. slice after slice.. he finished 1/4 of it.. -_- ...

no dinner today... Derrick had a craving for pancake.. so I decided to make some for my dearest~! but it's kinda funny to eat pancake for dinner.. anyone tried it before?
hehe.. while frying it..found some extra left-over cheese from the pasta the other time.. so decided to try something new.. added cheese to the pancake! see that stringy cheezzeee there? it tastes quite good, just a little too chewy. u guys should try it too :)our dinner . . .

Bro-in-law came over and showed us his new camera collection.. gosh.. u guys should take a look at it..

on the right, it's the new Canon power shot -- 8 mega pixels.. damn cool.. but it's too thick and big! the thickness is 3 times mine.. haha! my camera looks so small and fragile next to that 2 big cam!

Front View - the purpose of him doing that is to prevent the juice of the aloe vera from dripping down. haha! kinda creative don't u think. I told him to use the shower cap instead, but as usual, he will never heed my advice.. so.. who cares?
