New Jersey; Our Great Adventure to The Great Adventure
Friday, June 27, 2008
Several weeks ago we went to New Jersey Six Flags Great Adventure.
there were quite a bit of blunders trying to get to New Jersey and coming back to Albany. what that supposed to take only about 5 hours drive ended up became 8 hours drive to New Jersey. obviously, we got really lost in the high ways and cities. we got frustrated till a point when the temperature outside was scorching high yet we couldn't on the air-condition so as to save gas. hence, it felt as though we're in a mobile oven. our driver friend couldn't adapt to the hot weather and it was seriously affecting his mood plus the constant merry-go-round we had on the express way. getting there was a bit of adventure, but at least we got to see a city side of New Jersey! cool!
when we finally reached Great Adventure, everything was good except the weather was CRAZILY HOT. so much hotter than Singapore that you can't even imagine it! the heat just made me perspire like as if I'm in sauna! Upon reaching Great Adventure, we headed for the large roller coasters first before attempting other mini rides. (we got in for free cuz we're employees of Six Flags.) Apparently, Great Adventure is one of the largest theme park in the world and has the highest roller coaster in the world too! of cuz it felt great to be in something "largest" or "best" in the world. hahaha!! the photos shall show it!
Nitro was our first ride. it had many steep plunges and it is a large roller coaster! Fun!
Gotham City Park -- all the Bat Man and stuff..
Dark Knight -- an indoor roller coaster
in the midst of all the screaming and theme park music, there sits an old man relaxing in a serene location in the park. the scenery in this park is great because it's near some lake or something.
the great El Toro! I love this ride! It has the steepest drop of any wooden roller coaster in the world, at 76 degrees. It is the third tallest (188 ft) and third fastest (70 mph) wooden roller coaster in the world. It is also the first wooden roller coaster! just walking pass it makes this architecture looks spectacular! this ride is sooo freaking fast i didn't have time to lift my head up after any deep plunge!
beautiful architect of El Toro! everything wooden!
Sky Coaster in the background! this is a shorter version of ours.
vivian leona and dave on the left side
see a train at the tip of the curve? omg! 45 storeys high up!
Sky Coaster! 3 2 1 Fly!
KingDa Ka from the outside of the park! this is really the main attraction in Great Adventure! everyone goes there for this earth-shaking ride! so fast and so high and so steep! I was really nervous when I was queueing for this ride. seriously, it felt as though I was taking my O Level results. haha!
superman ride behind us! heard people died from it before!
thats the end of the day at Great Adventure! we only spent 5 hours there after 8 hours of driving home. NOT FORGETTING we were going to have another 7 hours of drive home!! thus, most of the time we're in the car actually. hahaha! and we got lost going home again!! this time was worse becuz it was dark and we got so lost that we hit New Jersey City and then the airport there! then we drove into wrong exit and ended up in a pitch dark and eerie town, which we guess the electricity was down due to the Tornado storm. tornado storm!! strong wind and rain were expected, even hail storm! luckily we weren't caught in it! it was a great adventure man!!
