Krabi -Thailand- trip with Derrick & family in the middle of school sem. haha.. isn't it wad I always do? last yr was Bintan before exams. now Krabi before the official holiday, which is now NUS recess week
we're very unlucky for the Krabi trip as it was rainy season. we knew it but the offer limit us to this travel time. sigh. rain rain rain. First day landed in Krabi airport and it was a down pour. Second day worse, a glimpse of sunshine was even impossible. Third day, the sea is not so grey and stormy but still, tiny drops of rain. LAST day, sickening, all sunny and hot! as if the sun was mocking us. LOOK AT THIS PHOTO! I suppose to see this stunning beach! but! all 4 days we see murky water and grey sky. wad the hell you tell me. Lucky we had a night flight, hence we still got few hours to bake ourselves.
Most regretful is, Derrick & I didn't get the chance to visit Phi Phi Island, Chicken Island, James Bond Island, limestone caves and many more... SIGH! ^#!#%^$*&~! not going to those islands means nothing when you go Krabi!! arhh!!!! pissed off with the weather. Derrick & I swear to go back there again! ^#!#%^$*&~! the only worth-its in Krabi were the shopping! and the 5 star-ed hotel and food. hahaha!
budget terminal is really cheapies. it is as though the terminal is a huge container with few polices and doors and chairs.
kids getting excited seeing the plane upclose. well.. it's their first time on board. lucky asses.. 1 yr old & 3 yrs old only and they get to travel more than their age.
sweet kisses. rachel fasten in her seat belt too. seriously, fastening her is like tying a wiggling worm with a thread.
when we arrived at Krabi Airport, 2 Toyota Camry were there waiting for us. was shock to see CAR instead of the usual bus or van giving us hotel transfer. wow man. the chauffer was wearing white blouse with vest. first touch of 5 star-ed hotel.
and we headed off to our hotel, Sheraton Krabi Resort. Bad thing about this hotel is that it's not located in Ao Nang, hence we gota take transport thereonce reached, warm towels and cold beverage were given to us. they requested to take photo of us for the hotel staff to recognise us. wow man! and they really did. a call for room service and its within 5 minutes they'll be there. unlike most hotels.
Derrick and my room.
huge toilet and true mini bar!! this is wad a mini bar Bar should be! the usual ones are just beers and mineral water in a pathetic fridge. we even had coffee maker and rows of beverages to choose from.
dinner time after settling down. thai food of cuz..
fooling around with bath robes. haha!
even the hangers are cushioned and satin-ed with ribbons. goodness goodness.
mosquito infested balcony.
breakfast buffet was good! but I realize the food are very westernized.. very strong touch of Italien.. weird though when it's Thailand
talking about 5 star-ed. even the honey is dripped down from honey comb!!!!
every morning, this baby elephant would be there to entertain guests.. it's 3 yrs old!
attempted to kiss Derrick!
Lobby toilet - very beautiful! nice toilet bowls too!
took a buggy ride to tour the resort area. it's built on top of a mangrove, thus the trees and rivers. and commando mosquitoes too!
rain rain rain.. so Derrick & I took the hotel car and went to Ao Nang!
streets of Ao Nang. didn't expect that there is so much shopping to do! damn! hence I got limited Thai baht! arhhh!!! swear im going back again!
shopping there really needs skills. skills of bargaining. wahaha! i think Derrick & I are just Elementary stage. haha! well, that was the first day shopping only!
starved and exhausted after shopping, we ate in a randon shop then continued part 2 shopping!
i love love love these lamps, if you call it lamps. how I wish I can buy them all!! ahh!! Derrick almost stomp on me when I started considering getting 2 of these
dog for sale.
stormy sea. the dark portion on the right is the on-coming storm. then it steadily came into the land. and I told Derrick, it's people like us who will die first if thats a tsunami. hahaha! seeing the storm coming so quickly and we're still standing and admiring it. haha!
messy waves. the little plots of islands hidden by the storm.
see? if it's really tsunami, we're the first to die. hahaha! still taking photos!
o hide from the rain, we had ice cream in coconut to stall for time in the shop
first day buys!! 6 dresses and 3 tops for me! poor derrick, 4 singlets only!
bed of satisfaction =)
dinner at a posh restaurant, if not for the food here, I could have save more for shopping! but thats wad we got in this resort.. sigh mushroom pasta. this is the B E S T mushroom pasta I ever had!
stacked rice, salmon, veges and sun-dried tomatoes. those typical expensive food. large price, small serving.. hahaha poor starving dad was disappointed with it.
seafood thin crust pizza. said to be famous in this resort.
tiramisu and soufflé for dessert.
tired after a day of shopping... sat down to brush teeth. haha~
and breakfast again...
waffle with chocolate, blueberry, cherries, strawberry & raspberry sauce! each in one row!
so nice. even the dustbin is 5 star-ed
the library and yellow river.
the pool and beach.
while waiting to go Ao Nang again.. above is the enormous lobby area and below is the maze and park of Sheraton.
lunch at Ao Nang never disappoints us! the Thai fried noodle & rice are so much better than Singapore's and the hotel ones!
a taste that I still remember.. it's really delicious! authentic thai?
and off we go to attack the shops again! Elementary Level 2 in Bargaining now!! wahaha! we managed to slash off 800 baht in a particular shop! when we wanted to leave, I was still lingering around to see wad else to buy, the auntie screeched "still more?!" haha!
these cables are scary.. whenever we walk passed, there's this Bzzz bzzzzz sound, like the electricity can charge off anytime and kill anyone who pass by.
cornetto mcflurry!! why singapore dont have?!?!
portray of his future? hahaha!
dine in room service - can order any food from alllll the restaurants in Sheridon.
last morning in Krabi, the hotel staff surprised us with a complimentary birthday cake for Rachel, whose bday on 18 Sept. wonder how they remember. 5 star-ed!
rachel & wendy still lost. dunno wads going on.. haha~
the mangrove
massage by the beach.
nicer beach on the LAST day. how nice.
this pic of rachel must zoom in to see!!! very funny!
Derrick's body-boarding..
back at the swimming pool for a tan. not my cup of tea. eeek!
all the activities we're doing... and rachel is ....
napping.....!
even had complimentary massage by the pool! lucky i stayed on despite the sun burn!
roses dunno from where.. think its complimentary for Rachel's day.
home we go! 5 star-ed transfer to airport! really good hotel i would say!
