Day 2 - Nusa Dua, Bali

Friday, June 05, 2009

Breakfast buffet to start off the day!
our view from the table -- the beach!

then we headed off to a mega shopping centre nearby.. i can't remember the name.. but they just sell cheat-tourists-money kinda stuff

then we're back to our resort/beach empty-handed. we finally get the cheapest bargain for para-sailing at the beach and went ahead for it! it was so much fun! i wish it is as thrilling as skycoaster but it isn't.

para-sailing for only RPT60,000!
then we did flying fish!! a new sea sport! the pink float supposed to fly high about 5 6 feets, depending on weight

i love love love this beach here!! Benoa is a must-come if you like beach holiday!!

did a little shopping by the beach too.. there are huts of clothes accessories massage.. blah blah.. everything as you stroll along the beach.
tried on both colours, using the camera as the "mirror". but I bought the white one in the end =)

finally! the main activity of the day -- touring around Bali! we hired two bikes to travel around, cheap and fast (as we can avoid the jam) . first to Dreamland, then Uluwatu and finally, Jimbaran dinner!
i would say i was rather scared when riding the motorbike!

Dreamland beach - suppose to be famous for the big waves for surfing

LG renoir takes good pictures huh =)

next, Uluwatu - the famous temple by the cliff and the kechak dance with sunset.
everyone has to wear this sarong to cover the knees as a respect to the gods in the temple.

the stone gate or entrance that we see everywhere in Bali is made very narrow as to prevent any evil spirits from entering the sacred land along with humans.. interesting huh? open gate like this symbolises a sacred holy place. for gates with a roof on top, it means the place is privately owned. I never knew that until I came here!

behind us is where the kechak dance plays.. facing the sunset while the play is on

dinner at Jimbaran!! i love love love this place too!! good food, good ambience, perfect service, super romantic!! tables were set on the beach, under the stars, dining with candle light!! damn romantic!! good place for couples!!
dinner was grilled fish, grilled sotong and fried sotong. with bintang beer of cuz =)
and came along this flirtatious singing old man at our table..
back in hotel again! that day was most fulfilling :D

Day 1.2 - Nusa Dua (Benoa), Bali

Day 1 noon, Sanur bored the hell out of us and we decided to lunch and head on to our next destination.. Nusa Dua for our luxurious resort stay!!
Grilled fish. this meal only cost me about SGD3 ! damn cheap and DELICIOUS food in Bali!
We stayed in Villa Bintang for 2 nights. Nusa Dua is a great great great destination! After seeing Sanur, the beach here is like heaven compared to that! Pristine white sand and exciting sea sports! this is a highly recommended place!
saw this Bakso man selling noodle. we don't have this in SG and i thought it was rather interesting.. murni must be thinking i'm a mountain tortoise! haha!
a bowl of beef ball noodle for only SGD1 !! cheap cheap and delicious!! what's even better is he sells it along a pathway by our hotel. convenient and perfect setting to eat my dinner!

Day 1 - Sanur, Bali

Sanur is supposed to be the first tourist attraction spot in Bali. Sadly, it is quite isolated since Kuta has surpassed it in the shopping, beach and night life. Sanur is practically deserted now..
Sanur is famous for its sunrise.

see? it is quite empty and the beach is dirty and narrow

since there wasn't much to do, we randomly chose glass-bottom boat ride to see the coral reefs and fishes. but the water was quite merky that hour hence we ended up touring around the nearby islands instead.
nothing much to do at Sanur.. I think it is a place for people who have time and money to spare then they'll come here for a night or so. the hotels there aren't that fantastic looking too

and this irritating cat kept staring at us, prowling around our table hoping for food. look at how it sits demurely and hopefully waiting for pieces of meat!
