Happy Birthday Rachel!!

Friday, November 14, 2008

Just celebrated Rachel's 23rd Birthday at Serangoon Gardens. Just the right night to go there since it has been raining all day and the weather is cool, cuz Chomp Chomp is always smokey and hot.
Cheers to Rachel! Happy Birthday! Zi Xin brought the sake for the night. seriously, sake tastes really weird. luckily only vivian saw my weird expression after drinking that! haha
the usual people from Martha's
we had BBQ chicken, satay, carrot cake, orh lua, poh piah and hokkien mee! + bday cake! omg women can really eat! fattt~!!
the spring chicken specially ordered by Qiu Rong. something that reminds us of Walmart $2 chicken. I still remember those nights at walmart.. we would loiter around and wait for 10pm to come, so we can grab the left over chickens at only $2!! then back home, the four of us will share 2 chickens on the carpetted floor, with that super spicy carol's chili sauce, potato chips from Great Value, and many other rubbish that we had in our private mamashop table, and we would be watching tila tequila most of the time. omg! the memories are still so vivid!! arhhh!!
Lijun looks so funny here! and of cuz the two ever readies with their standard smile. hahaha!

Happy Birthday Rachel!

Shu Juan and her fila bag. hahaha! the bag that we thought is so not her.

the night ended well =) happy! the friendships and memories that I returned with from the US trip are really valuable =)

Happy 21st Vee vee ann!

On Sunday, the Great Escape gang went down to vivian's place to celebrate her 21st birthday.ahhh!! I miss Martha's looking at these photos now!

i still remember how Lijun walks along the corridor with her tucked out uniform and slippers looking for food.. i still remember rachel's messy hair in the early morning when i knocked on her door.. i still remember one of the nights, i woke up holding murni's hand.. why did i do that??! i cant remember too.. I still remember the night before we went to Black River Rafting! we didn't even sleep at all! Also! i still remember how Esther hug her bottle of yoghurt and eats it on the bed before work.. oh man!! all these memories are still so fresh!! i wanna go back Martha's!!!
sigh sigh. our short 3 months dream. the US hat reminds me more.. we got it for Faith's party in room 104.
time to cut the Birthday cake.. before doing that, vivian presented a touching speech to all of us and even teared!
part of the US gang.. waiting for more to join next time!!

Duan Neng is always ever ready for the camera. she even said it is stress being with me and the camera! more like i'm stressed to take photos of them!! hahaha! thus, we are covering her face in this photo!

THERE! the two ultimate EVER READIES!! omg! they are in all my photos!!

Covering the faces of two Ever Readies!! haha! finally a shot "without" them

East Coast morning

Wednesday, November 12, 2008

almost for two months now, we've been going to East Coast park every Sunday morning for cycling/roller blading and family day. wanted to photograph these perfect mornings and capture that piece of memory for safe-keeping, fearing that one day I will forget them in the future. and D's mom laughed at me, saying I'm still young! why scared?! but one day I will still grow old, and that is why I need photos to remind me of such wonderful moments of family warmth!

it's good that I don't sleep till noon during weekends, because I realize at 8am everyone is up doing something! 8am at East Coast park can be pretty crowded! why isn't everyone sleeping?!

Derrick! =)
handsome dog!! love cycling at East Coast! I can see so many things within a minute on the wheels! even Filipinos wearing just lacy bra + sarong bottom at the tents area! omg!

Derrick and his brother and father

and indeed, it promotes solidarity and bonding.. family outing IS important

the end =) Sunday morning work out is good! I'm looking forward to the next one!

Marina Barrage

Monday, November 10, 2008

Just this weekend that passed (oh so fast), Derrick & I + sis's little family went to explore the Marina Barrage that just opened not long ago. It's a water conserve in the middle of a city. Beautiful place and nice scenery! really impressed with the view and architect! I think the view of the Barrage from the Singapore Flyers would be nice~ I'll be sure to come back again with Derrick without the kids -_- haha! new place to pah toh and see fire works too!

walking up the spiral sky garden or something named along the line, we can see the entire EDB area. The night sky line is even nicer with the Singapore flyers flashing colours! Beautiful!

and they have this water fountain area - i wonder whether the original concept is really for kids play or not, but apparently it is transformed into a water playground just like the top of Vivocity.
Singapore Flyers
many many screaming kids playing with the fountains. i kinda like it too, haha especially
the one that looks like a rainbow shape! we can walk inside it without getting wet!

it was a great night! a very beautiful place too! so proud of Singapore~ hahaha photos are taken from my brother-in-law's camera. with him around, i would feel ashamed to use my amateur camera and skills. haha!

New lappy!

Saturday, November 08, 2008

was reading my Durkheim on a Saturday noon, suddenly someone bang on my door damn loudly and shout what I love to hear most from a stranger at the door, "POST MAN!!" haha yeah! and i knew my garskin for my laptop has come! weee! it came earlier than I expected! happy! u noe the feeling when u r anticipating for some delivery to come? and when u hear "post man!!"... wah the feeling is shiok man! reminds me of times when we order F21 clothes that came in big boxES.

bcuz the website doesn't have my laptop model, i had to order something else that is similar to mine. hoping that a plus-minus 10" wadever laptop can fit mine, i took the risk. sadly, the size is still too big for my mini laptop. sigh. my art & craft skill is seriously damn lousy. I can't even cut a paper straight. damn. so i kinda screwed up my skin...

luckily the end result is not as bad as it seemed. haha! yeah! who says it is easy to put on the skin -_-
